MakeX Lab is an interdisciplinary research lab located at Love 008, Florida State University. We create scalable, intelligent, and sustainable ubiquitous computing by making smart materials, computational tools, and advanced AI/Sensing technology. Research

iWood

Te-yen Wu, XingDong Yang (Uist'22)

iWood is interactive plywood that can sense vibration based on triboelectric effect. It can also survive woodworking operations, such as sawing, screwing, and nailing, to be used to create smart furniture and artifacts (e.g. tables, nightstands).

Teyen is an Assistant Professor in CS at FSU. He directs the MakeX lab, exploring the next generation of ubiquitious computing.
