About

Weikuan (Will) Yu is a full professor and the department chair in the Computer Science Department at Florida State University (FSU). He has founded the Computer Architecture and SysTems Research Laboratory (CASTL) at FSU. Yu has broad research interests spanning computer architecture and systems, cloud computing, parallel file and storage systems, deep learning and data analytics. Dr. Yu has graduated many doctoral and master students who upon graduation joined prestigious organizations such as Boeing, Yahoo, Intel, IBM, Amazon, Oak Ridge National Lab, Berkeley Lab, Argonne Lab, Arista Networks, and other industry positions.
Yu's research has been supported for nearly $8 million by many federal and commercial sponsors including NASA, NSF, DOE (ORNL and LLNL), Alabama Department of Commerce, Mellanox, Intel, NVIDIA, and Scitor, with Yu serving as the PI for more than $6 million. His research also has been supported through equipment donations from Mellanox, NVIDIA, and Solarflare. Yu is a senior member of IEEE and member of AAAS, ACM and USENIX.
