Things you
should do at once:
- Prepare
for managing your assignment and test files by practicing the following
skills: saving, copying, moving, deleting, and renaming files and folders
- see Start Menu > Help and
Support > Windows Basics
if you are unfamiliar with these tasks.
- Prepare
for Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint exams by studying the assignment
skills
- Prepare
for Concepts exams by reading the textbook and studying the concepts
Things you should do at the beginning of each week:
- Check
your grades online weekly.
- Check
your FSU email and course announcements on a regular basis.

- Click Syllabus
on the course menu and read the syllabus and the Weekly Agenda.
Students are responsible for knowing and complying with all policies
and procedures put forth in the class syllabus. Failure to do so may
result in failure in the class.
- Explore our Web site
- Brush up on your Windows file management skills. Use
"My Computer" to create, copy, move, rename, and delete files
and folders. For practice, you can organizing
the "My Documents" folder on your own computer if you have
one. For help with these skills: Start
Menu > Help and Support > Windows Basics. There is no assignment to
submit for this, but you are responsible for submitting the correct
files when your Assignments 1-4 come due, so you will need these
skills.
- Reserve BOTH your exam session times - click Reserve Exam Times
on the course menu. First
come - first serve!
(Exam reservation system will be available towards the end of the week)
- ASSIGNMENTS
- Complete the Syllabus quiz online. It will be
located under "Exams" on your Blackboard course site

- Submit Assignment 1: Web Research and
Microsoft Word by 11:59:59 PM Friday (July 10th)

1! Reservations made or
changed after 11:59:59 PM Monday, July 13th will suffer point
penalties as described on the syllabus unless a documented excuse is
provided at the time of exam.

- Submit Assignment 2: Excel Spreadsheets by 11:59:59 PM Friday (July 17th)
- July 17th : Last day to
drop without receiving a grade.

- ASSIGNMENTS: Begin working on Assignment 3: Access Databases
- READ: Chapters 6, 7, and 8
- EXAM SESSION 1 BEGINS and
continues through the middle of Week 4.
- This session includes the following exams:
- Concepts Exam 1: Chapters 1 - 6 in Succeeding
with Technology (3rd Edition)
- Skills Exam 1: Word 2007
- Skills Exam 2: Excel 2007
- If you have not yet made your test reservations, you
have missed the deadline, and need to do so immediately.
- Make sure you have completed Assignments 1 and 2,
and read chapters 1 - 6 prior to your exam.
- If you have forgotten what day and time you reserved
for your exam, check using the exam
reservation system accessed from the class Web site menu.
- Make sure to have a photo ID with you at
the exam

- Submit Assignment 3: Access Databases by 11:59:59 PM Friday (July 24th)
- Exam Session 1 MAKE-UPS - Thurs, July 23rd
is your last chance to take exam session 1.

- ASSIGNMENTS: Begin working on Assignment 4: Presenting with
PowerPoint
- READ: Chapters 9, 10
- EXAM SESSION 2 BEGINS Friday,
July 24th, and continues through Monday of Week 6.
- This exam session includes the following exams:
- Concepts Exam 2: Chapters 7-12
- Skills Exam 3: Access 2007
- Skills Exam 4: PowerPoint 2007
- You can check your exam time using the exam
reservation system accessed from the class Web site menu.

- Submit Assignment 4: Presenting with PowerPoint by 11:59:59 PM Wednesday (July 31st)

- DEADLINES:
- No assignment submissions will be accepted after Monday, August 3rd!
Check any submitted but ungraded assignment files to make sure they
can be opened and are not corrupt.
- Sunday, August 2nd is your last chance to reserve any MAKE-UP exam
times. Final round of makeup exams will be provided EARLY this week

- Check your FINAL point total online and look up your
FINAL letter grade on the syllabus. Contact your instructor at 2100@cs.fsu.edu if you find
errors.
