Requirements

  1. Because the final programming project consists of 40% of your grade, you are expected to make good efforts on the programming project of your own choice.
  2. Your final project should work properly at least for a set of inputs of your own choice.

Submission

  1. Class presentation and demonstration

You need to give a 20-minute presentation, including demonstration in the last week of class, which is week 15. You need to explain your approach and the results you have obtained. You are expected to answer some questions related to your project.

  1. Report.

You need to turn in a report, which explains your approach, and includes a brief review of related approaches in the literature. The report is due on 5:00pm, Wednesday, April 25, 2001.

You also need to attach a hardcopy of your program to your report.

Grading Criteria

Because each of you is doing a different project, the grading is mainly based on your efforts, the correctness of your approach, results, and presentation. Note here that the presentation consists of 20 % and project 40 % of your grading and so the total here is 150 % with respect to the project, which is 40 %.

  1. Class presentation and demonstration ~ 50 %

You are expected to have a reasonably good understanding of the problem, your own approach, and the related approaches in the literature.

  1. Correctness of your approach  ~ 20 %

The method you use should be valid and without significant deficiency.

  1. Results   ~ 20 %

The results you obtained should be reasonable compared to other existing approaches.

  1. Program  ~ 20 %

You are expected to deliver a working program.

  1. Efforts  ~ 40%

As mentioned earlier, this programming project should require reasonable efforts.
