After this class, you should be able to:

1. Define the following: negative falling factorial power, equivalent of the logarithm, equivalent of the exponential.
2. Derive expressions for the difference of negative powers and the difference of exponentials.
3. Use summation by parts to determine closed form expressions for sums.
